Peer Review Process

The International Journal of Educational Research and Innovation (IJERI) upholds a rigorous and transparent double-blind peer review process to ensure the academic quality, originality, and relevance of all submitted manuscripts.

1. Initial Screening

Upon submission, each manuscript undergoes an initial screening by the editorial team to assess:

  • Relevance to the journal's scope

  • Compliance with author guidelines

  • Language quality and clarity

  • Basic ethical standards (e.g., originality, no plagiarism)

Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be rejected at this stage or returned for revision before peer review.

2. Double-Blind Peer Review

Manuscripts passing the initial check are assigned to two independent reviewers with relevant academic expertise. The double-blind process ensures that:

  • Reviewers do not know the identity of the authors

  • Authors do not know the identity of the reviewers

Reviewers are asked to evaluate the manuscript based on:

  • Originality and significance of the research

  • Methodological rigor and validity of findings

  • Theoretical contribution or practical relevance

  • Structure, clarity, and coherence of writing

  • Appropriateness of references and citations

3. Editorial Decision

Based on reviewers’ recommendations, the Editor-in-Chief or Associate Editor will make one of the following decisions:

  • Accept without revision

  • Accept with minor revisions

  • Revise and resubmit (major revisions)

  • Reject

Authors will receive anonymized reviewer comments to guide revisions. For major revisions, the revised manuscript may be sent for a second round of peer review.

4. Timeline

IJERI aims to complete the review process within 4–6 weeks from the date of submission. However, this may vary depending on reviewer availability and the complexity of the manuscript.

5. Ethical Responsibilities

Reviewers are expected to:

  • Provide objective and constructive feedback

  • Maintain confidentiality of the manuscript content

  • Disclose any potential conflicts of interest

The editorial team follows the COPE Ethical Guidelines for Peer Reviewers and handles any allegations of misconduct in accordance with COPE procedures.
